Since we started the Medical Assistant program at Ayers Career College in 1991 we have been training students interested in healthcare start their career in a field that offers the opportunity to work with, and help, other people.

Medical Assistants are a vital part of the healthcare community, are essential to keeping offices moving by performing clinical and administrative tasks, and are in great demand in a wide variety of healthcare facilities. Graduates of this program can expect to find employment in a variety of healthcare settings, including medical offices, hospitals, ambulatory care clinics, outpatient laboratories, surgical centers, and occupational medicine clinics.

How Long is the Medical Assistant Program?

The Medical Assistant program at Ayers Career College is a 36-week program, with classroom instruction on campus or online, combined with on-campus lab work in convenient day or hybrid classes. Your training will include classroom instruction, plus hands-on training in a realistic medical setting with learning exercises set up with practical, real-life scenarios. Students in the Medical Assistant program will also have the opportunity to work in an externship to help develop newly learned skills in a medical facility, as well as expand your education and potential career options.

What Will You Study in the Medical Assistant Program?

Your Medical Assistant training covers the clinical skills necessary for successful work in the medical field, including a basic introduction to patient care, preparing patients for exams, reading and monitoring vital signs, medical terminology, and phlebotomy- amongst other administrative tasks. First Aid and CPR certification, as well as Career Development courses, are also part of the Medical Assistant program curriculum.

Certifications

The Medical Assistant program at Ayers Career College prepares students to take the Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant Exam. Upon successful completion of our Medical Assistant program, graduates will receive their diploma.
