Medical Assistant Training

We help you get ready for work.

At Rockford Career College, our goal is student success. Students gather here in Rockford in a friendly, small-class environment that feels like home. That means you'll get plenty of one-on-one attention unlike a big school. You'll learn from highly-qualified and caring instructors all of whom have real-world experience in their field. Classes are highly hands-on so you can get a feel for what you're learning. During the last quarter of your program, you'll even enter an externship off-campus at a local employer where you'll put your skills to work.

All of us here at Rockford Career College are here to help you succeed, whether it's our free tutoring, helpful financial aid options, or connecting you with businesses for that great job. We may have changed names and locations over the years, but our goal remains the same: To prepare you for quick entry into the workforce.

Program

The Medical Assistant diploma program provides students with a basic educational foundation for becoming a medical assistant in today's healthcare industry. Upon completion, graduates could be qualified for entry-level positions in physicians' offices, medical centers, medical billing offices and hospitals.

Medical assistants work under the supervision of a nurse, doctor or other healthcare provider. They are typically responsible for tasks like taking vital signs, administering medication, drawing blood, scheduling, billing, assisting with minor surgical procedures and performing laboratory tests. During a patient's visit, they are often the first and last contact a patient has with the staff.

Medical assistants could work in a variety of healthcare settings, including hospitals, clinics, physician offices and nursing homes.

Accreditation

Rockford Career College is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS). ACICS is the largest national accrediting organization of degree granting institutions. It is recognized by the US Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).

At Rockford Career College, we're committed to helping students understand all of their options for obtaining funds in order to finance their education. The primary purpose of financial aid at Rockford Career College is to provide financial assistance, within its available resources, to those students who, without such assistance, would not be able to attend.
