The College's Strategic Plan evolved from comprehnsive planning sessions involving several hundred faculty, staff, and administrators. This process engaged our entire community including a cross section of alumni and regional leaders. Three priorities — Student Success, Workforce Development and Civic Engagement — dominated the conversation, and dedicted workgroups were charged with developing priorities and practicial initiatives for each goal. Assembled toghether, theses individual priorities became the Strategic Plan, which now drives the college to perform our mission, realize our vision and live our values.
Multi-Skilled Health provides the flexibility for students to gain these important skills in health care. Many of these courses require a clinical experience placement. Background Checks/Fingerprinting, Drug Screen, and current Health Record may be required for this clinical experience placement. The student has many options from which to choose in Multi-Skilled Health.
The Sport & Exercise Studies (formally Sports & Fitness Management) program was developed and initiated in 1992 to meet the varying needs of the recreational community in central Ohio. As we near 25 years of service to the Columbus community, the emphasis in the program is placed on real work situations, hands-on training, and a strong theoretical base on which to derive decisions about career choice and direction.
Customer service is the core of the program. Meeting the needs of a varying student population diverse in gender, race, socio-economic status, disability, veteran status, sexual orientation, religious background, and educational level is a goal of the faculty in the SES program. In turn, instructing students to meet those same needs in the larger society is our challenge to the Sport & Exercise Studies student population.
