This 5-week Patient Care Technician/ PCT program will prepare students for testing within the Certified Nurse Aide, Phlebotomy Tech and EKG Tech program offered at Northeast Medical Institute. The PCT program consists of 3 parts:
This Self-Paced Nurse’s Aide/Assistant/CNA program will prepare students for the Connecticut Department of Public Health and Department of Higher Education CNA requirements. Unlike the in-class CNA program, the self-paced program allows students to finish the theory portion which is 42.5 hours online at their own pace within 2 weeks. The self-paced CNA program includes 42.5 hours of online theory, 34 hours of lab time, and 25.5 hours of clinical. It provides training in fundamental nursing skills and theory and is designed to meet the Connecticut Department of Public Health requirements while preparing the student for the Pro-Metric State exam.
This 2-week Phlebotomy Technician program is designed to teach students the technical and procedural aspects of basic phlebotomy, including the collection of blood specimens and venipuncture required to become a Phlebotomy Technician. This program will teach students the concepts of Introduction to Phlebotomy & Infection Control, Legal Issues in Healthcare, Introduction to Human Anatomy & Physiology, Phlebotomy Equipment & Supplies, Phlebotomy Procedures, and Phlebotomy Fundamental Essentials. This program is designed for learners who want to advance their career, or interested in starting a career in the medical field to become a phlebotomy technician. This is a comprehensive 80-hour program.
