Founded in 1991, Dallas Nursing Institute (DNI) is a nonprofit institution with a mission to advance the art and science of nursing through academic excellence by integrating the knowledge, skills, and values essential for nursing practice.

Guidance, compassion, and excellence are the cornerstones of a comprehensive nursing education. With this in mind, Dallas Nursing Institute has built an academically rigorous curriculum that is centered on the values of determination, cultural diversity, and service to our community.

Available Programs

  • Associate Degree in Nursing

    Graduates of DNI’s Associate Degree in Nursing program will be academically prepared to become licensed registered nurses (RN), providing compassionate care to patients anywhere that health care is administered. As an RN, you will be prepared to:

    • Administer and coordinate holistic patient care
    • Educate about various health issues
    • Provide advice and emotional support to patients and family members

    Students who pursue an Associate Degree in Nursing from DNI will benefit from hands-on, rigorous training and individual guidance from accomplished faculty.

    Relying on three components of nursing care — biology, psychology, and sociology — students will be empowered to start their careers by learning the following:

    • Proper patient care
    • Medical terminology
    • Medication administration
    • Body systems
    • Body growth and development
    • Patient care assessment
    • Nursing procedures

    Graduates earn an Associate of Applied Science degree and will be prepared to sit for the NCLEX-RN licensing exam.

  • Vocational Nursing

    Graduates from DNI’s Vocational Nursing (VN) program will be prepared to begin a career providing general nursing care in a variety of environments, including:

    • Rehabilitation centers
    • Long-term care facilities
    • Doctors’ offices
    • Home health care agencies
    • Correctional institutions
    • Specialty hospitals

    Students who pursue a certificate from DNI will benefit from hands-on, rigorous training and individual guidance from faculty. Relying on three components of nursing care — biology, psychology, and sociology — students will be empowered to start their careers by learning the following:

    • Medical terminology
    • Medication administration
    • Body systems
    • Body growth and development
    • Patient care assessment
    • Nursing procedures

    Graduates of the Vocational Nursing program will meet eligibility requirements to sit for the state licensing examination, NCLEX-PN.
