YTI offers a Dental Assisting program at our York, Lancaster, and Altoona campuses. During this 9-month program, students learn anatomy and physiology of the head and neck, take and develop manual x-rays, take digital x-rays, assist the dentist with dental procedures, manage the front of a dental office, provide patient education, mix dental materials and manage inventory and ordering of supplies.
A career in Medical Billing & Coding focuses on the business, administrative, and office side of the medical profession. Medical Billing & Coding professionals complete medical records, insurance submissions and billing, and may be responsible for providing overall office support including greeting patients and scheduling appointments. The focus is on proper coding, medical record security, documentation and billing

Depending on the office size and specialty, a Medical Assistant could be handling both administrative and clinical duties. For some, front office work like, greeting patients, scheduling appointments, completing medical records and billing, can be a preferred aspect of the job. Others may choose to focus more on the hands-on aspect of patient care like recording vital signs, preparing patients for examination and basic lab procedures.
